The Black Couch started in 2014 as a working studio and art gallery in Chicago curating monthly group shows, weekly workshops, and daily lessons for visual artists of all ages.
Founders Mark Narens and Suzann Norris have since gone mobile and conducted art shows, public murals, and pop-up galleries in California, Arizona and nationwide.
They have recently opened an Art Gallery in Venice, California (right off the Venice Beach Boardwalk) where Mark is showing his full inventory of artwork.

Justyna Biala
Justyna studied voice, piano, and music teaching at music school in her native country of Poland. She can sing in both English and Polish, and has been performing she was very young. She has performed as lead jazz vocalist with both big bands and jazz combos.
She currently performs with Bill Kidera, a jazz guitarist who currently studies with her at Elmhurst college. You can see the duo at our month First Saturday Jazz event.

Herman Zelig Neuberger
Herman is an accomplished multi-media artist who has practiced architecture and art for over 50 years. Most notably, his artwork can be seen at the Chicago Theater. His early years as an artist were spent in Illinois. Since 1977 he has settled in Arizona where his artistic talents are best expressed through his clay and metal sculptures. watercolor painting, ink sketching, and pencil drawing. It is his "Thru Windows of Time" pencil drawings, with its unique subject matter, limitless detail, and realistic presentation, that has set Herman apart from his contemporaries.
